I love drawing and making visual stories combining colour and drawing to make pictures that are direct but contain layers of meaning. My work is allegorical and contains sentiments about contemporary living. I extract images and ideas from a variety of sources including the Southwest landscape, figures, music, dance, comics, poetry and fairy stories. I am fascinated by the way people stand and gather together to celebrate whether on the beach, at a festival or sports event creating patterns and energy as they move around. The sight of which influences the tone of my work.
I studied at Sunderland and the Royal College of Art. I have had many solo shows in the Southwest and am last year’s winner of the Plough Arts Centre Open Drawing Competition.
