I have had an interest in Art from a very early
age, studying it in formal education up to the level of the Art foundation
course at North Devon College, and afterwards continuing in my own time through
the medium of painting. I mainly use oil and acrylic on canvas, doing both
landscapes and portraits, but also like to experiment with sculptural forms, the
majority of which is through stone carving.
Like many others I am inspired by the surrounding beauty of the Devon
countryside and especially love to try and encapsulate the reflective qualities
of water. I enjoy using the vivid colours of oils and acrylic, using them to
portray the dramatic contrasts of colour that can be found in sunsets and the
changing light.
